Class Dates:

Feb 24, March 2, 9, 23, 30, April 6, 2020

Class Times:

6:30pm - 9:00pm

Prerequisite: Basic Sewing Techniques or similar experience

The  project for this class is a drawstring/elastic pajama style pant. This project has proven to be a great starter project to learn the basics of garment construction and to achieve success by completing your project.  Learn and understand the commercial sewing pattern envelope information and how to determine the proper size for success. It is not the same as ready-to-wear sizing. Learn the language of sewing; build sewing skills and learn to operate the sewing machine.  We will address correct cutting, marking, pressing, and seam finishing techniques as well as simple pattern adjustments and fitting techniques.   Learn  to follow the pattern instruction sheet, plus some techniques that are not provided in the instructions but give your project a more professional look.   You will be guided through the terminology of ease, fabric grain and notches while teaching you how much fun and rewarding sewing can be.  Sewing machines and pressing equipment are all provided for you in a bright fully equipped sewing room.

In the first class come in suitable clothing such as a camisole or t-shirt and leggings or a thin pant for taking your measurements and bring some paper and pen.

6 - 2 1/2 hour sessions $110 plus GST
