Sewing is fun when you get the results you want. Our classes are small and feature personalized instruction. You will be encouraged to do your best while enjoying successful experiences. Because each student cuts and sews at a different rate, and most projects take more than class time, please expect some work will need to be done at home between classes. Before signing up for classes, please check your schedule and read our class policies carefully. To be fair to our teachers and other students we must remain firm in our registration and cancellation policies.

Otherwise you may choose a garment pattern that has 4 pattern pieces or less. Learn and understand the commercial sewing pattern envelope information and how to determine the proper size for success. It is not the same as ready to wear sizing. Learn the language of sewing; build sewing skills and learn to operate the sewing machine. Correct cutting, marking, pressing, and seam finishing techniques as well as simple pattern adjustments and fitting techniques will all be addressed. Learn to follow the pattern instruction sheet. Fern will guide you through the terminology of ease, fabric grain and notches while teaching you how much fun and rewarding sewing can be. SASHIKO done by hand not machine! Deb White *****NEW*****

This is a very relaxing sewing method originating in Japan thousands of years ago. It was popular in the 70's and is making a huge comeback from a quilting aspect as well as for home decor, apparel, and for gifting.

It is a basic running stitch with old and new designs, and the wonderful thing is that it stitches up quite quickly. I have projects for beginners and some more challenging works as well. Come and enjoy learning a wonderful old tradition and the joys of hand sewing. Register early as class size is small.
