SAWYER'S SEWING NEWS

NOTION NEWS

Some of you have asked for the Havel's double curved embroidery scissors, advertised in various sewing magazines. We now carry two styles. They will both give you a closer cut, when reaching over your embroidery hoops.

You may have already seen the Clover mini irons. They're great for Celtic and Stained Glass quilt designs. Now we have a neat little ironing pad and holder specially made for the mini iron. From the same local manufacturer we have great wooden stands for all of your quilting rulers.

We have a new circular bobbin holder. It's very easy to get each bobbin in and out as it is made from a very soft and pliable plastic. It holds at least 20 bobbins.

Another new storage item is the new Slimline Thread Storage Box from Sulky. This holds up to 104 regular spools and weighs only 41bs. full.

Last but not least, have you tried our new polyester embroidery thread? 1100mts. on the spool, and complete with end cap. It's a 36 weight. 100% polyester means the thread is stronger and more colour fast than the rayon threads. We have the full range of solid colours and some GORGEOUS variegated colours.

Tech Tip:

Things to look for when "bunching up of the thread happens underneath your fabric" — 99% of the time the machine is not threaded correctly. Check to make sure that the thread has not come out of the take-up lever. Make sure the thread is in the tension discs all the way. Some of the older machines may build-up or have threads caught or broken in the tension discs. Finally check the tension dial to make sure it is not on "0".

CLASS SCHEDULE

Sewing is fun when you get the results you want. These classes are small and feature personalized instruction. You will be encouraged to do your best while enjoying successful experiences. Because each student cuts and sews at a different rate, please expect some work will need to be done at home between classes. Check out the details by clicking on the above link.

CLASS REGISTRATION POLICY

Fees must accompany registration. You may register by telephone using visa or MasterCard. No refunds or transfers within one week of the start of class. Sorry no exceptions. If there is a great demand for specific classes we will schedule additional ones. Or gather 5 of your friends together for a private class. Check out the details by clicking on the above link.
